Originally from Eritrea, we have been proudly based in the beautiful city of Cologne for over 30 years. We feel connected to both the local Kölsch culture and East African traditions. This fascinating blend of influences is reflected in the ambiance and cuisine of our restaurant.
For the past 10 years, we have been welcoming guests to our restaurant. Whether for family gatherings or business meals, INJERA offers a unique culinary experience for anyone interested in culture, featuring traditional dishes and carefully selected drinks.

African Culinary Culture
Our Eritrean-Ethiopian dishes are crafted using traditional recipes and authentic African spices. Each meal is bursting with aromatic flavors, seasoned with ingredients like Berbere, Korerima, Cardamom, Allspice, Clove, Coriander, and Ginger. Popular staples include lamb, lentils, chickpeas, and a variety of fresh vegetables.
Every main course comes with a selection of dips and sauces, known as ‘Wot,’ and is served with Injera, a soft sourdough flatbread. Injera doubles as both a plate and utensil, allowing guests to enjoy their meal using the traditional finger-eating technique.
